My Approach

How I approach counselling

My Personal Philiosophy

My personal philosophy around intentional change advocates that it is possible to become stronger and wiser and to experience the things we desire.

It takes time, discipline, courage, emotional strength and genuine conviction to sustain and enjoy a more productive and fulfilling life. Owning our story and honoring the person we are, complete with vulnerabilities and insecurities is probably the bravest thing we will ever do.

Assisting people to recognize their core values and emotional intelligence is the cornerstone of my approach, simultaneously supporting people in ways that enable them to locate their personal agency, connect with their self-efficacy and find joy in discovering their peaceful heart.

Encouraging and supporting people from all walks of life to achieve their dreams, is inspiring, humbling and deeply rewarding.

The thing that is really hard, and really amazing, is giving up on being perfect and beginning the work of becoming yourself – Anna Quindlen

Observing people’s strength, determination, persistence and internal motivation, while breaking through unhealthy life patterns and behaviours, is remarkable and extremely moving.

Linking people’s ability to connect with their personal emotional strength and courage holds enormous significance for me.

The passion drawn from my work has also motivated me to accept my own vulnerabilities and stand up to fear. Facing several family crises meant learning to strengthen my courage and hope.

It is through life experience and ongoing study that these ideas have expanded into the professional support and options that I am able to offer today. I look forward to working with you and supporting your journey towards finding your peaceful heart.

I have known Jill for 21 years and in that time she has re-invented herself in many different ways as she journeys through life. It is her passion for helping others & her integrity and commitment to her values that make her shine. She has been a work colleague, a friend, a mentor, my counsellor, and a catalyst through various life changes.
Jill is always caring, committed, professional, concerned, dedicated, inspiring and funny. She has exceptionally high ideals that are demonstrated in exceptional teaching and facilitating skills. I admire, respect and love her and count myself lucky to have her in my life.
