About Me – Jill Bayly
Professional Counselling Robina
My outlook on life has always been one of curiosity; this journey began some time ago as an apprentice hairdresser. An interest soon grew in training, which eventuated in an opportunity to join an international retail company as national training manager. This role led me to university where I studied education and became a registered teacher. My professional teaching career began at TAFE in Melbourne.
Throughout this period, my interest in people and their behaviour strengthened. Moving to Queensland, I taught retail, welfare, personal communication and counselling with several Registered Training Organisations and Gold Coast TAFE. My passion and curiosity for counselling and therapy continued to grow as I worked for several years with marginalised youth. Being extremely interested in their progress and wellbeing lead to studying Behaviour Management (Griffith University) before returning to university to study Counselling and Psychotherapy (Monash University).
My curiosity intensified with researching, exploring and learning how therapy could benefit and support anyone wanting to change their life. Following a position as a line manager with the Salvation Army, supporting the team who work so hard on the Salvo Care Crisis 24 Hour emergency line, I returned to Gold Coast TAFE in the position of welfare and career counsellor and continued tertiary study. With the support and encouragement of some wonderful teachers and mentors, I enjoy this gratifying career as a Therapist / Counsellor.
I have not embarked on this journey alone. It is important to thank my sensitive and beautiful son, for encouraging and supporting my journey of self discovery and intense learning. Many other inspirational people entered my life, willingly sharing their wisdom and insight and inspiring me to become a better person. I am especially grateful for their patience and dedication.

Well done Jill. It is lovely to see the rewards of your excellent skills and dedicated hard work!
You put me on the path and encouraged me to go further when I was a student and I wanted to say THANK YOU. I now run a mentoring program and reflect back on people like yourself and how important they are in shaping people’s lives and you definitely made a positive impact in mine.
